In 2015, Chef Arjun Mehta returned to New York after a transformative journey through India, where he rediscovered the rich tapestry of vegetarian cuisine. Inspired by the vibrant flavors and ancient cooking techniques, he envisioned a restaurant that would celebrate plant-based dining without compromise.
Niramish, meaning “vegetarian” in Bengali, was born from this vision. What started as a small 20-seat eatery in Brooklyn has grown into a beloved culinary destination, serving over 500 guests daily and earning recognition as one of New York’s premier vegetarian restaurants.
